Senior Fisheries Biologist

We have immediate opportunities for Senior Fisheries Biologists for the Southern California area.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ability to lead, manage and execute fisheries and aquatic resource-related studies, including design and implementation of fisheries assessments, habitat assessments, fish population analyses, fish passage assessments, instream flow studies, benthic macroinvertebrate bioassessments, and aquatic restoration efforts.
  • This person will also oversee fisheries and aquatic resource data analyses and provide quality assurance/quality control.
  • Other responsibilities may include building and maintaining client relations, leading pursuits of upcoming project work, preparation of scopes and budgets, strategic planning, and mentoring/supervising junior and mid-level staff.

Educations and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree plus 10 years’ experience or Master’s or PHD with a minimum of seven years of experience.
  • Candidates should be well-versed in issues related to coastal/marine, aquatic ecology with strong knowledge and experience with projects involving freshwater and anadromous fish species, as well as preparation of CEQA, NEPA, and ESA/CESA compliance documents. Knowledge and experience with FERC processes is also desired.

$50,000-$90,000/yr
