Senior Biologist/Project Manager
We have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Biologist/Project Manager in the Placer County area.  This individual will be responsible for managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee and manage complex projects requiring biological resources support and regulatory permitting.
Ability to manage individual project tasks and provide direction to support staff overseeing compliance of permit applications and regulatory documents.
Assist clients and oversee compliance of regulatory permits and project implementation.
Able to attend clients meeting, interacting with agency staff and managing field surveys as needed.
Build and maintain relationships with clients while serving as the primary project point of contact for the client as well as agency staff and attend project/client/agency meetings.
Provide project strategy, develop optimal permitting pathways, oversee preparation of permit applications/regulatory documents, and provide overall environmental compliance support.
Prepare project proposals and bring project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work to completion.
Contribute to continued business development through responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) as well as conducting client outreach and interviews.
Mentor entry-level and junior staff to expand understanding of project management/delivery and identify opportunities for their professional development.
Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in natural science field. Master’s or PhD a plus.
Project management and regulatory experience required; consulting experience preferred.
Minimum of 5 years related work experience and project and task management.
Demonstrated abilities to work with regulatory processes and agency staff. Must understand the federal Clean Water Act Sections 404 and 401; Porter Cologne Water Quality Act; CDFW Fish and Game Code 1602; California Endangered Species Act (ESA) 2081; and ESA Sections 7 and 10 processes, Placer County Habitat Conservation Program (PCCP).
Experience with wetland delineations and/or other local flora and fauna field surveys and knowledge of California biological habitats, species, and general conservation biology/ecology.
Strong writing skills, effective communication, and ability to collaborate with a diversity of staff.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt when priorities change.
Strong analytical, critical, and creative problem-solving skills.
