Quality Technician

Looking for a Quality Control Technician for a well-established Manufacturer in Sacramento.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Provides support in the planning, coordinating and overseeing of the quality management system(s). 
  • Help manages and maintains the management system as it pertains to the manufacturing process and ISO, SFI, FSC, G7, etc…. 
  • Provides quality related support and resources to all customers, department managers and/or team members when needed. 
  • Plays a key role in process improvement, monthly management reviews, quality related charting, internal auditing and the development of a quality training programs.
Task performs:
  • Administers and maintains the company management systems based on ISO 9001, FSC & SFI standard requirements.
  • Conducts material review board (MRB) meetings. Review corrective action requests (CAR’s) with management team weekly.
  • Participant in all external audits (customer and/or 3rd party). 
  • Maintains internal audit program. Holds pre-audit and post-audit meetings with managers and supervision to review check lists along with all the documentation being used during the audit.  Assist with updating and distributing PONC (Price of Non-Conformance) charts for weekly and monthly reviews, Financial Review, department identification/tracking.
  • Helps investigates, using quality tools and maintain the internal corrective action (ICA) process.
  • Writes, revises and/or stores quality documents (as needed). Works closely with all department heads in developing instructions, SOP’s, control charts, training, certifications and overall quality awareness.
  • Helps in the development and implementation of training programs.
  • Conducts quality related training when required.                                                         
  • Verifies that all internal processes and procedures are being followed at all times.
  • Communicates with Customers, Managers, Client Services, Design, Sales, Floor Supervisors and/or Operators. 
  • Works closely with managers and staff to ensure quality compliance. 
  • Generates, sends, and files Certificates of Compliance as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring safety procedures. Maintains a safe and hazard free work environment. Also responsible for being conscious of safety guidelines and reporting safety hazard corrections when indicated.
  • Data entry and tracking for improvement projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Education:                                                           
  • High school diploma; AA / BA preferred.
  • Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor (a plus).
  • Certified ISO 9001 Internal Auditor (a plus).
  • 3+ years of manufacturing industry experience.
Skills:                                                                
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical and organizational skills required.  
  • Has technical knowledge of the mfg. and/or order process.  Will be working in the plant environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effective interpersonal skills.  Proactive and a good sense of urgency in servicing internal/external customers.
  • Inquisitive, will ask questions and comfortable challenging aspects of mfg. process.
  • Bi-Lingual in Spanish a plus, but not required.
  • Current employees must be performing their current job duties in an acceptable manner and have a good attendance record.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
