Construction Coordinator III
We have an immediate need for a Construction Coordinator III with the utility industry in the Los Angeles County area. 
Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsible for contract and specification compliance of electrical distribution overhead and underground construction projects including monitoring contractor performance, material acquisition and coordinating construction activities. This individual will work closely with the General Foreman to ensure all requirements are met to include permit, line switching, customer outage, equipment needs and traffic control.

Inspects and monitors contractor work for compliance with contractual documents, including quality, safety, schedule and specifications.

Maintains schedule and reports to management on project status.

Ensures optimal efficiency of large projects by completing a Pre-field Job Walk. Throughout the duration of job, seek to identify opportunities for improvement with Foreman while integrating lessons learned, applying the most up-to-date construction processes, environmental safety regulations, design and construction standards (including but not limited to the following: Distribution Design Standards Electrical Service Requirements, Construction/Maintenance Standards, Distribution Apparatus Construction Standards, GO 95 and 128 Regulations).  In addition, apply technical knowledge and field experience to manage cost efficiency and productivity of line crews.
Coordinates and communicates with employees involved in major construction and maintenance projects to ensure safety and overall quality of work.

Arranges for line outages, coordinates switching and testing and issues contractor clearances. 

Validates customer connectivity and determines outage requirements.
Interfaces with Industrial, Commercial and Residential customers to arrange electrical outage on their business or home.
Performing and documenting inspections utilizing the approved QCL at minimum frequencies as defined by the Program Plan.
Completes required documentation and submittals per client’s standards (Environmental, Survey, Outage, Switching Request, Requesting Substation Checker, Apparatus support, Helicopter Request and Troubleman Support).
Updates electronic records in various spreadsheets utilizing Microsoft Excel, Work, Outlook and Quick Base.
Fosters a learning culture with entry-level Construction Coordinators to share the wealth of knowledge obtained from previous experience.
Ensures material is accurate and staged for upcoming jobs.
Assists with getting client approval for change order, design deviations, as built redlines, and scope changes.
Ability to verify completed job is constructed to the standards identified in various construction standards manuals including GO 95 and 128 Underground and Overhead Standards Manual, and Operation and Maintenance Manual.
Skills and Qualifications
  • 10 Years’ experience in electrical distribution overhead and underground line industry as a Construction Coordinator
  • 5 Years’ experience as a Journeyman Lineman/Cable Splicer classification – Qualified Electrical Worker
  • Ability to read and understand electrical construction drawings required
  • Knowledge of the following: Standards, Overhead Construction Standards, Underground Construction Standards, Underground Structures Manual, General Order 95, General Order 128 desired
  • Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required
  • Knowledge of Southern California Edison specifications
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technology desired
