Construction Coordinator 1
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • The below lists the responsibilities of the Construction Coordinator position.
  • Communicate to all businesses, schools, cities for traffic signals and customers needing access prior to scheduling work.  For weekend work on streets get prior approval from the city before submitting to SORL.
  • Submitting outages, NTO and switching
    • Submit all circuits involved, per the GF’s request and instruction
    • Confirming if mailers or door-hangers are required
    • Communicating/following up with customer, once job has been scheduled
  • Calculate CMI on all outages
    • If CMI is over 50,000, PGS review/approval is required to be documented
  • Securing Substation Checkers, EPT, Apparatus testing , Troubleman and or System Parallels
    • Sub checkers – 1 week in advance
    • EPT – 24 hours for M-F 8-5, 11 days for night or weekend work
    • Apparatus – 3 week notification
    • Troubleman for switching 16 days in advance
    • System Parallels – 20-25 days in advance
  • Calculate Arc Flash/Fault Duty potential
    • Work with GF to schedule work of high ratings
  • Environmental – schedule surveys and/or monitors 2 weeks in advance
  • USA-double check expiration date on WOS (if expired renew dig alert ticket online) 
    • Give USA information to permit department to issue for projects
    • Det pole CC’s obtain their own USA tickets
  • Permit:
    • Confirm permit is valid. If not communicate with Permit Group to extend permit
    • Call in to schedule an inspection with city
    • Communicate with all parties (Permit Group, PGS HM admin and City) at least 1 week in advance if we are working night or weekend in case job needs OT fees for inspector
  • Material – double check when replacing H class or larger poles or any material such as switches, padmounts, radios etc. that are critical to the work
  • Schedule digging crew at least 1 week in advance
  • Tree Trimming 
    • Gain permission from homeowner (if needed)
    • Submit line clearing request at least 7 days in advance
    • Confirm tree trimming has been completed prior to job starting
  • Crane 
    • Submit crane request & note in WOS
    • Place job on hold if needed. Also, add note in WOS when FAA permit was filed for by Crane Operations
    • Confirm crane company provided estimate sent to Superintendent
  • Traffic Control 
    • Submit TCR from traffic control to TC Manager
    • Make sure traffic plans are submitted with TC requests
    • When working multiple days on one TD can use the same TCR for different locations
    • If job gets cancelled double check with traffic control subcontractor when rescheduling new TC date and use same TCR
    • Send email regarding cancelled traffic control to H&M admin
  • No Park – give to No-Park coordinator 1 week prior to job
  • Confirm if mailer or door hangers are required and give to No Park coordinator 1 week prior to job
  • Update any circuit map changes by emailing to Western or Eastern Mapping and PGS’
  • Update WOS 
    • For poles -estimated start date, estimated completion date, WO controller, and any additional notes to keep others abreast of a poles situation
    • For project work update start work date, estimated completion date, WO controller and % complete.  Add in notes only on parent work order
  • Remind all commercial customer outages via field meet and follow up with a phone call
  • Update Outlook calendar for each foreman 5 day – 2 weeks prior.  Include TD, Structure, location and any pertinent outage/switching information etc.
  • Request NT to PT per GF request to PGS’
CANCEL OR RESCHEDULED JOBS:
  • Fill out cancel/reschedule form
  • Notify SCE Representative
  • Cancel/reschedule traffic control and also email H&M admin
  • Cancel no parks and/or doorhangers with No Park coordinator and send No park coordinator the new rescheduled dates
  • Contact customer if accessing property and/or commercial customers
  • Call City Inspector to notify of cancellation/reschedule
  • Call Troubleman, Apparatus, EPT (if necessary)
  • Update Work Order System document in notes section why job was cancelled
  • Cancel/reschedule crane if needed
BASIC WORKFLOW: 
  • General Foreman (GF) shall pre-field the work, then hand over to Construction Coordinator (CC) to execute the responsibilities listed below – to meet the requests of the GF and schedule dates established
  • Adjustments to the schedule date originate from the CC based on customer contact and are then coordinated with the GF
  • Once all CC responsibilities below have been met, the work transfers back to the GF for execution
Requirements
  • 1 year working experience using Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with construction planning processes
  • Willingness to travel using personal vehicle with reimbursement at government mileage rates
